HOMAYRA AHMED

President and Founder

Hi, My name is Homayra And I am the Founder and President of Hope for Hearts. I am currently in Nursing Level 4 (soon to be registered nurse)! I started this club last year with the intention on raising awareness for congenital heart defects after my personal struggle with dextrocardia. I wanted to lend peer support to other mcmaster students who may be feeling isolated with cardiology experiences and congenital heart defects. It can have a large emotional and physical impact dealing with a heart condition and hence why I decided to start the club and fundraise for McMaster Children's hospital and SickKids. Due to COVID I plan to raise more awareness on these conditions and plan to donate towards SickKids generation of a new hospital. I love advocating for heart related issues and if you have a story to tell let me know :)
